“The technology races so fast, so that familiar production tools are like archaeological relics. Sounds recorded on old cassettes are types of material I like to work with, you could say that I like scavenging all the sonic-shit that gets thrown away. After decades waiting, I was able to afford my own studio software but I’ve used Sibelius for 20 years, currently using sounds from Note Performer which make their way into plenty of productions. Reception is always considered, whether productions are experienced in the landscape, inside built spaces, via digital platforms, or elsewhere” Frances Gill.
